Tertiary cacao nibs, vanilla, cappuccino and crème brulee notions deepen jubilant java journey. Well-realized and stylistically bold pale ale (dedicated to former San Diego baseball star, Tony Gwynn) places tangy grapefruit-orange-pineapple juicing upfront as resinous hop pining contrasts cereal-grained caramel sugaring. Tertiary mango, peach, clementine and tangerine fruiting adds further luster.
ALESMITH SPEEDWAY STOUT – JAMAICA BLUE MOUNTAIN COFFEE

Devilishly delicious Halloween ’17 treat (with hellish 6.66% ABV) plies cereal-grained cookie dough yeast to fruit-spiced center and mild pine resin. Initial caramel apple sweetness seeps into Bosc pear, peach and cherry illusions as well as tangier floral-bound orange, mango and tangerine tropicalia. Sweet toffee-like malting adds candied coating to terrific medium-bodied red ale.

On tap at Ambulance, busily vibrant ‘botanical’ stout loads coconut-milked lime tartness and herbaceous ginger-lemongrass-basil pleasantries inside creamily caramelized coffee-beaned dark chocolate roast. Mild cayenne-peppered cinnamon snip and wispy vanilla-cumin-curry daubs found beneath herbal mocha concoction. A daringly expansive offshoot that works well.
