From medieval Suffolk brewery with truly fresh water source, worthily peculiar golden ale integrates unexpected smoked bacon, burnt wood, and Band-Aid illusions with bulky grain-hopped char. Surprisingly rich, formidable, and coarse for mere golden category.

Comedic moniker aside, this honey-hued spruce-scented fizzy-hopped golden ale maintains raisin-soured orange rind bittering and dry wheat indifference above delicate yellow-fruited tartness. But unassuming crystal malt base fades in the stretch.

Wafting grapefruit esters bleed into piney hopped frontage and secondary orange peel bittering. At terse citric finish, buttery grain-roasted malts linger.

Tamped down Cascade hop bitterness moderates sharp grained malting. Apricot and barren lemon-lime hints add sunshiny tang to barley-wheat crest of light-bodied summer ale illumination.
