Banana-dried clove-spicing and wheat wafer sweetness counter lemon-soured tartness by bitter yellow-fruited finish. Tangier, if lighter, choice than comparable Tuchers Helles Hefe Weizen.

SAMUEL ADAMS HEFEWEIZEN
Minor cloudiness invades flat, chartreuse, Bavarian-hopped half-wheat knockoff. Mild banana-bubblegum odor fades to metallic shrill as lemon-soured grapefruit snippet reaches wheat-cracked sourdough midst. Candied orange caress and unexpected licorice lament hidden beneath. Dreary peculiarity finds only middling success.

TUCHER HELLES HEFE WEIZEN
(BROOKLYN) BROOKLYNER WEISSE BEER
Admirable unfiltered Bavarian wheat with dryer-than-expected banana-clove template, sourdough yeast sinew and temperate floral hops given punctual carbolic fizz. Strong, but never pungent, allowing banana, grapefruit and bubblegum illusions to dab limey bottom. Better with lemon and nearly perfect for hazy summer party.
ISSAQUAH BULLFROG ALE
Sunny golden hazed disposition, mowed grass aroma, and chaffed wheat dryness befit tamped-down lemon-hopped splurge of non-committal dry-bodied hefeweizen. Simply put, up-front resolve lacks tenacity and expectant banana-clove influence never arrives to intensify floral-spiced orange-grapefruit peel bittering. Honeyed caramel malting counters white peppered herbage, barely reaching fruition halfway through.
