First ever (?) English-styled Mexicana India Pale Ale is nuthin’ special – but copacetic nonetheless. Laidback floral-perfumed citrus pulse settles above grassy-hopped pine resin and caramel-spiced malt backbone. Serene grapefruit, orange and lemon tanginess flutters. Not dry, compact or bold enuff to be even loosely defined as English styled, though.

On tap at Plank Pizza, ‘pillowy,’ dry-hopped, hazy New England-styled IPA brings juniper-spiced orange rind bittering to the fore above creamily lactic oats-wheat base without getting overbearingly harsh. Light cologne waft seeps into lemony orange-pineapple-grapefruit triage and laidback coniferous fern snip.

On tap at Ambulance, brisk Hallertau Blanc/ Simcoe-hopped IPA retains sharp grapefruit-seeded orange rind bittering over herb-spiced grassy pine licks. Ancillary spruce-sweetened mango, guava and grape illusions reinforce zesty citric frontage.
CARTON 99 ADDITIONS IPA
On tap at Plank Pizza, crisply smooth citrus-juiced Sam Calagione (of Dogfish Head) tributary retains centrist appeal while remaining stiff enuff for avid hop-heads to enjoy. Throughout, lingered lupulin oiling contrasts crystal pale malt sweetness. Juniper-nipped pine resin politely embitters lemony grapefruit, pineapple and orange tang plus dusty herbal residue.
TROEGS HOP KNIFE HARVEST IPA
Sunshiny orange zest and mildly spiced lemony grapefruit tang lead easygoing tropicalia. Bright citrus luster gains teasing piney hop resin and latent herbal astringency to contrast crisp amber-grained pale malt toasting.
ZERO GRAVITY BING BING INDIA PALE ALE
Easygoing lemony yellow grapefruit vibrancy and sweet orange peel auxiliary lie above dry pilsner-malted oats base of crisply clean golden-hazed moderation. Sweetly floral-bound pineapple, peach and canteloupe illusions dip inside serene citrus entry. Delicate crystalline mouthfeel never undermines body and character.
BARRIER IT’S A SWEATER INDIA PALE ALE
On tap at Ambulance, mildly hazed orange-yellowed IPA brings dry-hopped Citra-Centennial blend to bitter yellow grapefruit rind pucker, piquant lemon-peeled orange tang and sweetly soured pineapple reminder. Light wood tones contrast pale malt sugaring beneath the brisk citrus surface.
TERRAPIN LUAU KRUNKLES PASSION-ORANGE-GUAVA IPA
Sharp tropical fruiting raises sour passionfruit, orange and guava juicing slightly above piney citrus IPA template and blaring aspirin-like astringency. Lemony gooseberry tartness increases zesty Hawaiian tropicalia while grapefruit pith and melon rind souring gains ancillary mandarin orange, pineapple, papaya and tangerine tanginess. A somewhat bold stylistic changeup. 
HI-WIRE LO-PITCH JUICY IPA
Easy drinkin’ juicy-fruited yellow-cleared medium body retains zesty sweet orange peel tang and spry lemony grapefruit spritz over doughy biscuit malting and dry wood base. Tart peach-skinned pineapple, passionfruit and grape illusions tucked away alongside lightly lingered floral-perfumed hop astringency.
TWO TON LOW ORBIT ION CANON NE IPA
On tap at Poor Henry’s, dry Citra-hopped medium body tosses juicy pineapple tanginess and lemony grapefruit zest at lightly sour lactose influence. Another fine hybridized New England-styled IPA.
TROEGS BLIZZARD OF HOPS WINTER INDIA PALE ALE
Wintry IPA ups the tropical fruit spicing and lowers the piney hop resonance for ‘end of year hop cycle’ celebration. Lovely floral-perfumed grapefruit, orange, pineapple and peach tang gains ancillary mango-nectarine-tangerine conflux and dry wood tone above mild biscuit base. More like a “gentle spree of hops” and that ain’t a putdown for this relaxingly accessible moderation.
GREAT LAKES COMMODORE PERRY INDIA PALE ALE
Perfectly approachable and subtly Brit-styled IPA brings tingly citrus spicing to caramel-toasted cereal grains and mild piney hop resin. Polite lemon-candied grapefruit, orange, pineapple, and tangerine tang picks up soft floral nuances at the fruit salad finish.
