Sessionable prune-browned tan-headed medium body layers sour soy-sauced cocoa powdering and sedate roasted hop bittering above creamy brown chocolate sugaring. Ashen walnut char, toasted pumpernickel breading and latent hickory nuances fill the dewy earthen gaps.

GREENPORT HARBOR BLACK DUCK PORTER
Congenial English-style porter brings dark-roasted hop bittering to soy-milked black chocolate assault, brown-sugared molasses cookie creaminess, and cocoa-powdered toffee remnant. Residual wood-burnt char deepens penetrative coffee-oiled espresso arrival. Easygoing appeal will delight dark lager heads looking to take a step up to porter-stout styling.
KUHNHENN BLACKBERRY PORTER
Creamy fruit-dried porter saturates heavy blackberry puree theme with smoked chocolate malting. Raspy blueberry, raspberry, and black cherry fruiting seeps into fizzy blackberry seltzer midst. Chambord liqueur reminder and chocolate cordial lick serenade cola nuttiness at backend. Just a tad thin by mocha-clad berry finish.
ROGUE DOUBLE MOCHA PORTER
Robust mocha porter in cobalt blue bottle not far removed from fruit-dried mocha-malted Black IPA (and a damn fine dessert beer to boot). Espresso-milked kiln coffee dryness contrasts creamy molasses cookie sweetness and dark roasted barley graining. Resinous hop-charred bittering deepens nutty fig-raisin conflux, latent black cherry surge, and crisp tobacco leaf reminder.
(FIRESTONE) WALKER’S RESERVE PORTER
Stylistically lighter than expected. Distant dark-roasted peanut-shelled walnut, macadamia, and Brazil nut sharpness depletes dark-sugared oats-flaked caramelized toffee sweetness. Soapy molasses-draped cocoa-chalked coffee grounds reside below overestimated, but not insubstantial, wood-conditioned dry-bodied smoothie. On second passing, soft rye-breaded mochaccino-cappuccino creaming picks up wet-papered oats toasting, sweet hazelnut drift, and oyster-shelled crustacean nuance.
SPEAKEASY PAYBACK PORTER
Dry ink black mocha porter overcomes slick nature. Lactic dark-malted cocoa-dusted Blackstrap molasses, black chocolate, burnt coffee, crème brulee, and creamy fudge nudge muted hop-oiled astringency. Black cherry, purple grape, raisin, prune, anise, and fennel notes skewer ashen peat-smoked backend. Iodine-like aftertaste may be off-putting. A bit thin compared to heartier porters, but not unlike a simple mocha-chalked schwarzbier or less roasted Black IPA .
NOGNE O PORTER
Robust ebony-hued dry-bodied mocha porter layers black chocolate richness atop nutty dried fruiting and barley-roasted hop char. Molasses-sapped burnt caramel malting thickens cocoa-powdered walnut-pecan cluster as well as ashen fig-date astringency to ample chocolate-caked finish.
(NOGNE O) BEER HERE MORKE PUMPERNICKEL PORTER
Brewed and bottled by Beer Here at Nogne O, rich chocolate milkshake creaminess seeps into hop-charred oats-flaked toasting, dry coffee roast and ancillary sesame-seeded pumpernickel prod. Syrupy mahogany pour deepens sinewy molasses-like richness and chewy cocoa-milked stead. Caraway rye bread, black cherry puree, plump raisin, Brazil nut, and walnut illusions sidle recessive black tar bittering. Try in lieu of chocolate malted.
CONCORD JUNCTION PORTER
LANCASTER PORTER
Lingered coffee thickness and heavy mocha-chocolate confluence provide early promise, but toasted malts never overcome obtrusive fizz, lowering overall effectiveness. Musty barley dredge picks up tar-like residue, evaporating quickly to chalky powdered chocolate dryness. Just not as definitive as finest porters.
O’DELLS CUTTHROAT PORTER
SEA DOG RIVERDRIVER PORTER
Withered hazelnut acridity becomes too one dimensional and overbearing for dry coffee and sweet chocolate to penetrate indifferent porter. Questionable dried fruit souring and tannic grape parch leave tart mouth pucker as disturbingly ashen coal-like hop char moderates compromised espresso bittering.
