Turbid pale honey hue matches pliable chaffed wheat balm, but reticent lemon-lime tang and bland spicing mire leisurely dry-hopped finish, sterilizing already mushy nature. Not on par with better North Coast brews.
Soft unfiltered yellow-hazed American wheat ale brings tart banana breading to dry-hopped clove-coriander spicing, honeyed wafer backdrop, and white peppered hop tingle. Sour-candied lemondrop tartness seeps into mild banana-clove finish. But unassuming nature causes slight deficit.
True blue collar dark amber blonde ale pits raw wheat-maize earthiness against astringent honey bittering and sour grape esters, getting casually usurped by dry grassy finish. Toasted hop coarseness thickens adequate session beer.
Dank malted grain essence would lead drinker to believe this wheat beer has thick texture, but that’s not the case. Moderate-bodied with traces of sweet curdled yeast, it’s a bit flat and soapy for its class. Wheat base held in check and lack of heady froth further disappoints.
Supposedly made from “adventurous recipe,” spry reddish golden mini-wheat maintains easygoing citric hop flow and gently spicy lemony backdrop. Brewery defunct: 2000.
